Monique JalcaLCSW

I work in collaboration with my clients towards empowerment of the self and their relationship to the outside world.

Treatment Approach

Life moves in waves, there are moments of clarity and moments that feel heavy, confusing, or uncertain. Sometimes, what we need most is someone to walk alongside us, to see us as we are in that moment without judgment. To be reminded that we are not alone, and that even the most difficult experiences can shift when we bring awareness and compassion to them.

Together, we can explore both the light and darker parts of yourself that have come to the surface gently uncovering what they may be asking of you right now. My approach is to meet you where you are, with compassion and curiosity. Everyone’s experiences are different, and healing does not follow a single path or pace. My role is to listen, to be present, and to honor you fully as we move toward a greater sense of clarity, empowerment, and healing.

About

Growing up, I often felt like I didn’t quite belong. There was a strong sense that I needed to meet expectations and fit into what others believed I should be. Expressing how I truly felt wasn’t always safe, and over time I learned to hold things in and move through life as if that was simply how it was meant to be.

Over time, I began to recognize that there was more within me, more insight, more depth, and a desire to understand myself in a different way. Even when it felt unfamiliar or uncertain, I chose to listen to that inner voice and follow where it was leading. That decision shaped the way I now approach both my life and my work.

My personal journey, along with my background as a social worker, has deepened my ability to meet others with empathy and without judgment. I believe in creating a space where people feel seen, heard, and supported especially in the moments they need it most. Being able to witness someone’s story and walk alongside them in their process is something I hold with great care and respect.

Taking a journey inward can feel challenging, and at times even overwhelming, but it can also be meaningful and transformative. I feel honored to support those who are ready to explore that path.

I’m originally from Los Angeles, California, and now call Oregon home. I’ve also lived in New York, where I met my husband. I’m a parent to two boys and I also have dog and a cat. I enjoy spending time outdoors, reading, being with my family, and finding moments of connection in everyday life.
